So let me see if I got this right(about health care and poverty levels)

I did some checking and apparently even when(if ever) the new health care law kicks in, our family won’t be poor enough to qualify for it. WTF? I went to see why this would be. Apparently, If you have a family of 3 (two adults and one kid) and both adults were earning ONLY minimum wage, you would not qualify because you make too much. Even further analyzing this we can see, that if a single parent with one child, and works full time at MINIMUM wage makes too much to be considered poor. A single parent making minimum wage makes too much money to be considered poor?

Now hold on, who the fuck figured this shit out? Apparently the same people who decided what going to be the minimum wage also decided it was too much money to be making and considered poor. I have no idea why the republicans were concerned about this bill. The only people this is going to help are those who are already getting help. Here is the link for federal poverty levels if you want to check it out for yourself.

Figures! So hey government fuckheads, come arrest my ass right now, cause I am not going to let my kid starve so I can buy health insurance!!!!

Sadly enough, this not the only disappointment disquised as a Health Care Plan. There are also new taxes in the bill. Such as: 3.8 % tax on all home sales. Also if you are working and insurance is offered; you have to enroll in that insurance for all your family or pay a fine. I think its $2000. each year and if you dont have it: they will take it from your income tax refund or unearned income return. There are a lot of other things in that bill that would make most of us wonder if we ever should vote Democratic again. There are other laws and bills being signed behind the backs of the Senate and House. So far, the rising costs have fallen on those of us who have insurance. We have less coverage that Medicare now.

  2. Actually that is not entirely true. If you make more that what is allowed for the expanded medicaid program that will begin in 2014(obviously a republican plan there), then you will qualify for subsidized insurance that could cost you as low as 2% of your income. The fine rises each year to a maximum of $695.00 but our income is just barely above the limit for free so we should only have to pay about $500.00 a year for the insurance, if it even sees the light of day, which I highly doubt. Stop reading Republican propaganda! The democrats wanted the amount to which people could qualify for the free insurance to be 150% of the poverty level but the republicans held up the legislature for months in the senate until they got what they wanted. The article was really not about the health care bill, that was kind of a side note. I was just amazed that republicans( the ones who decided what was poverty level) was absolutely stupid and thought it worthy of posting about.

No worries, too many dumb asses seem to believe the republican propaganda machine(about the only thing they are good at doing) and I am sure they will get the health bill completely repealed by 2014 so that the rich continue getting richer and the poor continue getting poorer. I think the one thing they seem to miss though is that if they keep up with it, people will run out of streets to sleep on and will begin sleeping on the white house front lawn.
